As I said earlier in the week, I had my evaluation with rs on Thursday. He shared with me some of the comments others from the district had made about me in their evaluations, but not who they were from...one was that I was a "Brett Favre" kind of leader. I don't know who said that, but I think it was a compliment. I went to the Packers website and saw a description and I just realized that he was named Sportsman of the Year by SI for 07. I don't think the comparison has anything to do with my athletic ability. Maybe age. Or maybe something else. From what I can find out, Brett is "one good guy" and if somebody thinks I am "one good gal" I am grateful..Apparently he was also on the cover a couple of weeks ago, losing in the snow. Anyway...
I did too much yesterday and this morning and need to veg some the next couple of days. Vegging always sounds so good, but when I really get the chance I am not too good at it. But my ordinarilly chipmunky left cheek is even more so right now and I am really beat, so I will try to make like a carrot and veg tomorrow and the next day ...except for some computer work. Everyone take careth.

brett's allure is that he plays with a honest love for the game & has a ton of fun doing it. that rubs off on people. knowing you, that might be what the comparison is.
You and every other DS deserves to "VEG OUT" before the big cabinet meetings starts leading up to Conference in June.
Okay, I can't take it anymore. I love reading your blog and frankly, I enjoy serving under you. Heck, I think the Favre comparison is quite the compliment and right on the mark. With all that in mind, would you please quit using the word "veg?"
It is derogatory in its connotation. I know, I know, it may not seem like it but please reference definition number four at dictionary.com:
Informal. a person who is so severely impaired mentally or physically as to be largely incapable of conscious responses or activity.
That is where the slang term "veg" or "veg out" originates.
So...I'll keep reading and keep working my tail off for God, for the UMC and for you but please stop using that term. Thanks!
Thanks. I of course had not thought of the connotation--and will never use the v work again. I have never been more grateful for the anonymous feature so someone who cares could set me straight. Thanks again,
I love Brett,
He is old and still keeps going.... That is why I love him. I'm not saying you are old, but I am. He is a player who loves the game also. I just like to watch him play. And yes he has been a great leader for the team and city as well.
Hope you are doing well.
