Tonight I was blessed with being able to go to The Branch...a MU student planned, student led (I think mostly UMC) worship service at a comedy club. They meet every Tuesday night for worship. Tonight I got to hear Sara, a UMCer student from Rolla preach. I also got to see Liz Hinz UMC student from Waverly (in my district) who assisted in worship, sang and played the guitar.
Yesterday, when Sherry Habben and I made plans to go out to dinner, she asked me if I wanted to go to The Branch afterward, and I literally jumped up and down and said GOODY! (is this REALLY a ds writing this)..Liz'z mom had told me about it and I told her that this is EXACTLY what I thought ought to be happening at MU. Although Tammy Shelton and Bev Boehmer may help some, it is really these young adults who are the movers and shakers. Their dedication, hard work, and imagination in staring this "new thing" is so wonderful. And it gives me hope. Thank you God.

I knew there was a reason you needed extra time in Columbia! bw
I'm sorry we missed you Susan. I'm glad you had a great experience with The Branch. Although MU students are leading, we're really hopint to reach students and non-students... let's see where God leads us.
Blessings,
Kevin Shelton
