How Beautiful

Today I was priviledged to be present at Ann Rathert's installation service as the new d.s. for the Gateway Regional District. It was a lovely service. For me, I was most moved by a video presentation which simply showed pictures of most of the churches in the district, with Twila Paris' "How Beautiful" playing while the churches were shown. Small churches, new churches, clapboard churches, churches with steeples, brick churches,. All representing communities of faith that will gather tomorrow morning to worship God, to hear the word read and proclaimed, full of people who will be listening for the Word. Yes, God, protect the church, but prod it, too, tomorrow and each Sunday. And protect and prod those pastors, too.
