7 Things the Emergent Conversation and the Saint Louis Cardinals have In Common
1) Neither gets as much media coverage as the NY Mets
2) I would give up a date with a new guy to either watch the Cardinals on TV or go to an emergent event (and have)
3) I would skip out on the end of a church Board of Trustees meeting to either watch the Cardinals on TV or go to an emergent event (and have)
4) I would leave a Cabinet-required meeting early, no matter how wonderfully enlightening it is/was, to see the Cards in person, or go to a MAJOR emergent event (and have)
4) I spend mucho money on both (allbeit it the In Demand TV package for Cards and books for the e.c.)
5) I can enjoy both on the internet (more Cardinal cash...for MLB.TV and Gameday Audio)
6) I have special shoes that I associate with each (red converse for Cards; black Rocket Dogs for emergent...it is strange, I realize)
7) Both are God given joys (okay, GM Walt Jocketty had something to do with the Cards, but I am sure he, who is a United Methodist by the way, was Holy Spirit inspired)

Welcome to the UM Portal site. Great blog!
(And congratulations to your World Series-bound Cardinals!)
The thing about media coverage that I've noticed is that it is usually inaccurate, putting it nicely, so perhaps the less they say, the better they say it.
It's probably been an edge for the Red Birds because with all the media attention comes added pressure. I hope Albert hits at least one out in each WS game!
